History of Organization

In 1999, a state summit was held under the name "Ready to Learn".  A major goal was to encourage efforts to assure that children 0-5 would be a priority for both the public and private sectors   Regional Summits were formed and the Colina Foundation continued to keep the focus on Early Childhood in Wayne County.

In April of 2001, with the support of the Colina Foundation, a non-profit organization, specifically focused on Early Childhood development was formed.  EVERYBODY READY received 501c (3) status in December of 2001.

EVERYBODY READY managed a speakers’ bureau focused on early childhood development. This initiative increased public and private sector awareness of the long term value of quality services, activities and programs for children age 0-5.

EVERYBODY READY secured grant funding in 2006 as part of the State of Michigan’s Great Start initiative. EVERYBODY READY has provided ongoing in-kind support for the Great Start Collaborative –Wayne for the past decade.
